A little tip if you use Windows XP.
To help improve the overall speed of your PC , delete the Contents of your PreFetch Folder , its easy to do and 100 % safe.
1. Click Start 2. Click My Computer 3. Click Double click C drive or whatever your Hard drive is named 4.Double click Windows 5.Locate and open the Prefetch folder , click edit and then select all 6. Click file then delete
Make sure u empty your recycle bin.
Prefetch files are a bit like temp internet files , usefull to a point , untill u get to many, then they become counter productive. As a rule i delete mine once a week.

Do u get a delay when clicking on the START button then going to programs etc ?
To speed this process up do the following .
IMPORTANT If you are not confident that you can do this , do not attempt it !
Click Start Click Run Type In ' regedit' (without quotation marks) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER , then Control Panel then Desktop Select 'Menu Show Delay' Right click on that and Modify , set the value to O (zero) Reboot your pc
You will find that now your menu's in the START section open far quicker.

If you want to free up resources so that your pc speeds up try this little tip. What it does is to free up all resources from things u have running in the background. Make sure u have the application open that you want to speed up , and on top of every other application / webpage.
Then simply do the following :
Click Start Click Run Copy and paste this text into your run box - Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
Click ok / hit enter
Ideal if you run large graphic progs or play online graphic intensive games.

Okies , heres a little time saver for ya !
Instead of typing a full webaddress in your address bar such as www.google.com , just type in the website name , i.e google and press CTRL and Enter keys at the same time. This will auto fill in the http:// and www and .com bits for ya .....
Enjoy ;D

There are converters for other editions of microsoft types 97. nt. ect. but not xp i.e version 6.0 but it wont run on my xp. Hey Box, Thanx for ur reply, Yep u did understand right but I think I have sorted it now. Managed to find a program that will convert notepad into word, its called 602text but it seems to work ;D . So now I can do a CV in works, convert it to note pad, then convert again into word then send it. A bit slow going but when I haven't got word in the first place its the only way I've managed to do it!! Hope this makes sense!!!!!, cheers m8,
