I'm suggesting this thread for posting "How It Works" explanations. Hopefully, you will be able to find the way to do what you want to in here. OK, you got here, you want to start contributing I think it's self explanatory, if you wish to reply to a message that someone has already posted, click on the "reply" button. If you wish to alter a message you posted earlier, click on the "Modify" button above the message! The basics: [/u] Button | Message Box | Produces | | | Bold | | | Italic | | | Underline | | | Strikeout |
I just changed the TEXT placeholder with the name of the command at the end of the line to show how it works. It is possible to "stack" commands - TEXT and the easiest way of doing this is: - (1) click on a button in the toolbar
- (2) point your mouse over the word TEXT in the Message: box and double click. This should highlight the word TEXT......
- (3) next click on another button
- (4) continue using steps 2 and 3 until you have all the commands you need
- (5) then change the text for what you want.
TEXT Tony4in1Changing the colour of your textThis again, is easier than it might seem. All you have to remember is that commands start [command] and end as [/command] any thing in the middle is affected With colours, you get the format: TEXT simply by choosing the required colour from the drop down menu on the right hand end of the "Add tags:" panel. (Please note the American spelling of the word color!) Click on the word TEXT and replace it with the Text you wish, with patience (and a touch of lunacy) you can change every letter if you wish like: THISOne small point, there is no White!!!!! Just pick another colour (eg yellow) and change the colour name to "white" [ color=White] Next Message: Special Effects and Movement!

Part 2: Making the Message Pretty! [glow=red,2,300]Glow[/glow] When you click the button, this comes up as As before, you replace the placeholder "TEXT" with your text. [glow=red,2,300]But this is a standard Red,2,300 Glow setting which splits[/glow] [glow=red,6,300]But this is an altered Red, 6,300 Glow setting which splits[/glow] so the first number shows the amount of Ready Brek the text has eaten! (amount of glow, refering to an old British TV advert) Now remembering that the Previous attempts split after the word "Glow"...[glow=red,6,400]But this is an altered Red,6, 400 Glow setting which doesn't split in the same place[/glow] So folks, the glow command works in the format [glow=(colour),(strength),(line-length)] where line length goes from 0 to 400! The Shadow command button gives As before, you replace the placeholder "TEXT" with your text.[shadow=red,left,300]shadow=red,left,300 does not share quite the same format[/shadow] but the 300 does the same as with the glow command [shadow=red,left,400]shadow=red,left,400 does not share quite the same format[/shadow] However hard I try, I cannot think what the "left" parameter could change to, as Center and Right have no discernable effect! Oh and as most of you have found out, changing the word "red" for one of the other colours just changes the "aura"/"shadow" colour Most of you will use the button to access different fonts The standard font command without the brackets is "font=Verdana" then the TEXT placeholder TEXT Strangely enough, taking the name "Verdana" and changing it for another font name changes the text. Verdana Tolkien Script Microsoft Sans Serif Letterman FirstGraderFor that line, I simply changed the font name and replaced the "TEXT" with the name of the font I chose. I hope, that these fonts reproduce correctly at your end!

I agree with the length of the thread / messages , maybe half a dozen web page links would be easier , then peeps could just click on the relavant one they need help with . I will also be able to archive a load of posts in the help section then , which will make the place a lot tidier.
As for us working together , i have no prob wiff that if my limited skills are needed , but Tony seems to have it well under control.

A new member is one who has posted fewer than 50 messages. A junior member is one who has posted more than fifty messages but less than 100. A full member is one who has posted more than 100 messages. Erm, (this is embarrasing, I didn't notice my fourth star!) A Senior Member and after posting somewhere in the region of 250 messages. I hope this answers your question.
