mIRC Setup
Download and save software file into a temporary directory.
Double click the mIRC exe file.
Start mIRC from Start Menu.
Click on the File menu and then click on Options.
Click on the IRC Servers tab. Enter the following information in the corresponding fields:
Real Name: your real name (ie, Adrian) (Doesnt have to be real)
E-Mail: your email address (ie, somebody@somesite.com) (Doesnt have to be real)
Nick Name: an name to use on the chat system (ie, Daemon)
Alternate: if someone else is already using the NickName you've chosen,
you will be known as this name instead (ie, Daemon2)
Click on Add button and add this information into the corresponding fields:
Description: WorldWide Chat Network
IRC Server: wcn.ircxpro.com
Port: 6667
The Password field should be left blank. Now, click on Add.
Click on OK.
Click on the Identd tab. Make sure that the Enable Ident server box is ticked, and that your username is in the User ID field.
Your mIRC program is now set up. Click on the File menu and select Connect. After a short wait (up to 20 seconds) you will see the line saying something like End of MOTD command. Note: Motd is daily update of important message from server administator. To access such motd when connected already type /motd.
Type /list to get a list with all channels
Right click on a channel for options (ie , Join)
