If you would like to use moving text (marquee) or bold or italic text , read on for instructions ;D To use moving or marquee text , click on the large M button in the toolbar above the message box u type in and delete the word text that appears , and simply replace it with your message! For Italic 's / Font changes etc follow the same principal i.e for italics , u would click on the Large I symbol in the toolbar above , it will display the following . TEXT So all you would do is to replace the word TEXT with whatever message u wished to insert , just remeber that ONLY the words Between the brackets will be affected. This will take a little getting used to , if u have specific queries regarding this please click on 'reply' and ask your question Good luck Peeps and happy posting !!

Box, your help has been really great with this and I think I'm getting the hang of it However, I see in your signature, you have a scrolling text portion that has a glow effect. How do you add effects to text in signatures? Are there a series of codes that we can learn and apply them in the manner you've described for the other effects? Cheers, T

OK, you may see that I managed to figure out the answer ;D In case you're wondering, I did it by looking at the code that comes up when you're changing effects in messages (such as this) and copying that code into the signature portion of my profile. So frexample, in my signature, I have the scrolling text "It's not easy being cheezy!!". I've managed to put an orange glow effect on it byt using the following code: [ move ][ glow=Orange,2,300 ] It's not easy being cheezy!![ /glow ] [ /move ] So you can change the colour of the glow by putting your own preference or whatever. I've changed the size by adding the code so that the code for my signature (without the gaps after/before parentheses) is:
[ move ][ size=3 ][ glow=Orange,2,300 ] It's not easy being cheezy!![ /glow ][ /size ][ /move ]
The only question now is to see how to get this to appear as text and not scroll along the screen glowing like a ready brek kid!
Wish me luck - sorted!!!

The only question now is to see how to get this to appear as text and not scroll along the screen glowing like a ready brek kid! Wish me luck - sorted!!! remove both [ move] elements of the code OR if u mean how to write the code in a message with it performing the act so to speak , either put a space in each command , as i did above with [ move] or put it in a code box . Press for that

OK, I realise most of you are not used to HTML (website coding language), so here's a few tips: - Whenever you start a command (for changing font etc it will be in square brackets eg [Command] the end of the command is shown by a "slash" before the command type eg [/command] everything between these commands should be affected by it!
Example: This is not Bold This is Bold This is not Bold
This is not Bold This is Bold This is not Bold
- Sometimes you will need to "stack" commands. The best way is to click on your first choice (eg bold), highlight the "TEXT" and then select your next command (eg underline). This replaces the word TEXT and will "stack" your commands correctly. When you have finished stacking, you change the last TEXT with your choice of text.
Example: Tony4in1Tony4in1
- In some cases the button commands (for example the the lower ones on the toolbar) don't come with any hint of what to do or how to do it! Just remember the first point above, put your text/URL between the "]" and "[/" and you should be OK.
- If as in the case of the List command you run out of the elements provided, type them in by hand. For the list command this is by adding
- (without the space) at the start of each list item before the [/ List]
You can Preview a message as many times as you like (this was previewed about 30 times!), you can also modify it once it has been posted, so Don't Panic! If you want to try something out, there is a thread provided for this it's titled " testing" and you can find it in the " Help" section

[glow=blue,2,800]Blueness, You can make fancy name things at www.flamingtext.com. Just have a look and play around with stuff. There are loads of different styles to choose from, so it's best if you play yourself. But if you get really stuck and need a hand, shout out and I'm sure somebody will do one for you. Hope this sort of helps, T[/glow]
