Help me oh wise ones!
Didn't know where to put this - no suggestions thank you - so have decided to post in here. I'm troubled by a few e mails I've recieved recently saying that MSN are closing the accounts that are not being used. There are an alarmingly vast array of e mail addys coming through with these forwarded messages. The basic directive is to forward the message on to at least 10 ppl or your account wil be closed.
1. Is there any substance to these e mails? 2. Is this just someone trying to get a load of addys for future use? 3. Surely a corporate body such as MSN have rather more sophisticated methods of checking whether or not an account is active. 4. Isn't there a web site for verifying these e mail type thingys?
Hope you can help! I do not as a rule fwd stuff - even if it means I'm in for 'bad luck' - but would hate to suddenly 'disappear' however appealing that may seem to some !

Sounds like spam to me Flower. Why don't you contact MSN help, they'll be able to verify anything like that.
There is a site where you can verify this sort of e-mail, and all sorts of other urban myths, but I don't think I'm allowed to post the link so I'll PM you with it if you like.

Thank you both Birdie & Tee. I had thought it strange - but as I said - who knows? Gosh - some ppl have very shallow lives as to start these things off!

These emails are sent in a vain attempt to slow the net down , i.e , if u send to ten peeps then they send to ten peeps , etc etc etc , which is exactly what the WormBlaster virus did .... The next spotty 15 yr old u see , give him a clip round the ear , it has to be one of them , lol.

Thank you Box - as it happens I have a ready supply of spotty 15 year olds in the shape of my son and his many friends that litter the house at regular intervals. I shall exercise your advice at the earliest opportunity!! Cheers!
